When your QB throws an interception, do whatever it takes to get the ball back.
That’s what Alabama’s John Metchie and Devonta Smith did in the first quarter of the SEC Championship on Saturday.
The Mac Jones pass was plucked by Trey Dean III, who didn’t know what was about to hit him on the return.
Metchie unloads on Dean, separating him from the ball — and probably his senses.
DeVonta Smith picked up the fumble and the Tide had a great break.

On the next play. Jones connected with Smith, who was wide, wide-open, for a 31-yard TD pass.
