The pads won’t come on until Monday’s practice, but the Rams have still been getting good work in during this ramp-up phase of training camp. It’s been a lot of individual drills and walk-throughs with sessions in the weight room, too, getting players in shape before full-contact practices take place.
The defensive line, for one, is looking good during drills. In Friday’s session, they went through footwork drills and predictably, Aaron Donald looked the best of the bunch. But don’t get it twisted: Michael Brockers and the rest of the group certainly held their own, too.
Take a look as they were coached up by defensive line coach Eric Henderson.

The defensive line will be missing A’Shawn Robinson in the early part of the season after he landed on the non-football injury list, and Sean McVay said he won’t return until “some point this season.” Fortunately, Sebastian Joseph-Day and Greg Gaines are capable fill-ins at nose tackle, and they look good int he workout above.
Expect Joseph-Day to start out with the first-team defense early on, but Gaines could push him for reps.
