By now we ought to have a feel for who new Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka is in that role, yet the Portland native still feels a little elusive in terms of being able to be described as a head coach of one of the premier NBA franchises.
His defensive predilections are obvious to all, but how he wants his offense to work is still unclear just yet, and perhaps something of a work in progress with the roster that he has being designed to hold down the fort on the defensive end more than put points on the board.
Accountability and communication are two cornerstones of his coaching style, but we have already seen gaps in that via some early growing pains for Udoka.
Who is he as a coach with more than a month of the 2021-22 NBA regular season in the rear-view mirror? The hosts of the CLNS Media podcast “Celtics Beat” are joined by Celtics broadcaster Sean Grande to talk about Udoka’s coaching on their most recent podcast.
Check out the video embedded above to get their reads on who Udoka has been — and better yet, the coach he is trying to become.
