Fireworks were had last night in the form of the future of Oklahoma football.
The Sooners have their guy for 2020 as Spencer Rattler has unequivocally been thrusted into the starting quarterback role without winning a quarterback competition. This is the first time Lincoln Riley will have a quarterback for more than a single season, creating the same path for the next quarterback in line.
Insert Caleb Williams. The five-star, No. 1 overall quarterback and Elite 11 Finals MVP committed to Oklahoma on Saturday night.

Not all commitment videos have this kind of bravado. Nor do they typically include a cameo from one of the school’s all-time greats.
Adrian Peterson welcomed Williams into the Sooners family.
“Hey what’s up Caleb? It’s all about making good choices. Welcome to the family and I wish you nothing but the best. Boomer Sooner.”
In 2021, Oklahoma and Lincoln Riley will have Rattler and Williams on campus at the same time. No program in the Rivals’ rankings era has landed two No. 1 overall quarterbacks in a three-year span.
