The first player to announce his commitment to the Washington Huskies after coach Jedd Fisch took the job, running back Jonah Coleman appears to be an integral part of Fisch’s offense. He put up impressive numbers in 2023, with 871 yards and 5 touchdowns on the ground, averaging close to 7 yards per carry, and added 283 receiving yards and another touchdown through the air.
His 2023 performance helped him earn an elite 91.3 grade from Pro Football Focus, placing him just behind Oregon’s Jordan James, who scored a 92 according to the analytics site. Alongside senior Cameron Davis, offensive coordinator Brennan Carroll will have one of the best combinations of running backs in the Big Ten to work with.
With a largely inexperienced group of wide receivers outside of Cal transfer Jeremiah Hunter and senior Giles Jackson, quarterback Will Rogers will need to rely heavily on his running backs to shoulder a heavy workload. Coleman and Davis both provide solid pass catching options out of the backfield too.

Now, Carroll and Fisch need to put together an offensive line to protect their ball carriers. Even though there are some promising pieces up front, the Huskies will need a few more veteran bodies to help clear paths up front after losing all five members of the Joe Moore Award-winning offensive line in 2023.
