Washington’s Joe Moore Award-winning offensive line was reliable all season long in front of quarterback Michael Penix Jr. as the Huskies made their run to the national championship. Center Parker Brailsford was one of the best freshmen in the country, while left tackle Troy Fautanu earned All-America honors for his performance.
Right tackle Roger Rosengarten’s season went unnoticed by national evaluators, but was on par with Fautanu’s. Going into Washington’s national championship matchup against the Michigan Wolverines, the former four-star recruit allowed just 2 quarterback hits and no sacks over 610 pass blocking snaps according to Pro Football Focus.
After being named a Freshman All-American in 2022, Rosengarten was snubbed of even an All-Pac-12 honorable mention after a much better season in 2023.
Even though his national championship performance will be tainted by a holding call that negated a 32-yard reception by wide receiver Rome Odunze, Rosengarten’s reliability on Penix’s blind side was a vital part of Washington’s success. Following the loss to Michigan, Rosengarten announced that he will be entering the 2024 NFL draft, where he could hear his name called as early as the second round.
