The Washington Huskies saw another entrance into the transfer portal on Thursday evening when redshirt freshman Keith Reynolds announced his intentions to look for a new home.
After playing just two games in 2023, the 5-foot-9, 180-pound wide receiver took a step forward last season, acting as the primary kick returner for Jedd Fisch’s team and averaging 21.9 yards per return on 14 attempts. He caught just 5 passes for 35 yards in his career and took a handoff for four yards for a rushing touchdown which wound up as the game-winning score in a 26-21 win over the USC Trojans.
Reynolds is the No. 13 scholarship player from Fisch’s roster to enter the portal, and will have three years of eligibility wherever he ends up.
This departure may signal that the Huskies are looking to take two wide receivers in the transfer portal. Position coach Kevin Cummings is hosting former five-star recruit Johntay Cook and highly-touted Idaho pass catcher Jordan Dwyer on Thursday in hopes of adding some experienced players to the room.
The Huskies also had an overabundance of receivers that can play on the inside which may have led to his departure, as Arizona transfer Kevin Green Jr., sophomore Audric Harris, redshirt freshman Jason Robinson Jr., and several members of Washington’s 2025 class have the ability to line up in the slot.
