Washington WR Jason Robinson Jr. enters transfer portal

Washington lost some of its promising young depth at wide receiver when Jason Robinson Jr. entered the transfer portal.

The Washington Huskies have a promising, young wide receiver position full of depth, but lost some of that on Monday night when freshman Jason Robinson Jr. entered the transfer portal.

The former four-star recruit redshirted during the 2024 season and was honored as the Brian Stapp Special Forces Scout Squad MVP at the team’s end-of-season banquet. A former USC commit, Robinson chose the Huskies in the summer of 2023, committing to coach Kalen DeBoer’s staff under position coach JaMarcus Shephard.

Known for his ability as a route runner, Robinson spent his first season on campus adding weight and spent some time during both spring and fall camp working as a kick and punt returner.

He becomes the second wide receiver who had assumed some of those duties to enter the portal, following redshirt freshman Keith Reynolds, who acted as Washington’s primary return man in 2024. Reynolds’ departure also may have led to Robinson getting a look from wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings in the slot during spring practice, where he would’ve competed with Arizona transfer Kevin Green Jr. and several members of Washington’s incoming freshman class.

Robinson, who grew up idolizing standout Husky receivers John Ross and Jaydon Mickens, will have four years of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
