The Atlanta Hawks (40-39) will host the Washington Wizards (34-45) on Wednesday night in a critical game for their postseason positioning. The Hawks are still alive for a playoff berth instead of a play-in spot, so every game matters. Tip-off from State Farm Arena will be at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Wizards vs. Hawks odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.
The Wizards are out of playoff contention and have their last 3 games, going 2-8 in their last 10 to fall 9 games below .500. Despite their recent losing streak, the Wizards have covered the spread in 3 of their last 4 and are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games. Their most recent win was a stunning 130-111 upset of the Boston Celtics on March 28, easily covering the spread as 10.5-point underdogs.
The Hawks are 3 games back of the Brooklyn Nets for the final playoff spot in the East. They’ve won 3 of their last 4 games, but are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 contests. They’re coming off a 123-105 road win over the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night and are currently riding a 2-game winning streak.

Wizards at Hawks picks and predictions
Prediction
Hawks 122, Wizards 113
Moneyline
Even with how poorly the Wizards have played this year, there’s no chance I’m willing to lay a bet on the Hawks at -600 on the money line. There’s just not nearly enough reward for the risk with a line that steep.
PASS.
Against the spread
When the Hawks are favored by 10-12 points, they’re just 1-3 ATS, according to Covers. In their last 4 games as underdogs of at least 10 points, the Wizards are an impressive 3-0-1 ATS, covering against the Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks and Celtics.
With Young and Hunter potentially out for the Hawks, I like the WIZARDS +10.5 (-105) to cover the spread on the road.
Over/Under
Even though the total has only gone Over in 3 of the Hawks’ last 10 games, the Over is still 43-35-1 in Atlanta’s games this season. The Over is 6-4 in the Wizards’ last 10 games and has hit in 3 of their last 4.
Even with Young and Hunter uncertain, the Hawks rank 10th in the NBA in pace so this should be a higher-scoring game, especially against a Wizards team that ranks 20th in defensive rating. Bet OVER 233.5 (-110).
