As part of their move to the Big Ten, the Washington Huskies are going to see an increase in national exposure and interest from television networks.
According to Action Network’s Brett McMurphy, NBC is zeroing in on its primetime lineup for the 2024 season, and along with the Oregon Ducks, Jedd Fisch’s Huskies appear the most times on the network’s preferred lineup.
If NBC can acquire all the games that it wants, Washington will make three primetime appearances on the network. First, on October 5 in a national championship rematch against the Michigan Wolverines at Husky Stadium. Next, again at home as the USC Trojans come to Seattle on November 2.
Finally, on November 30 when the Huskies hit the road to play the Ducks in Eugene during the final week of the regular season. Playing on NBC is a significant upgrade from the Pac-12 for Washington, as the network averaged the largest viewer base on Saturday nights last season.
“On Saturday nights, NBC Sports is averaging 4.1 million viewers across NBC, Peacock and NBC Sports Digital platforms through seven college football games (9/2-10/14),” NBC said in a press release in October 2023.
“That figure includes 3.84 million viewers measured by Nielsen and an Average Minute Audience of 231,000 across Peacock and NBC Sports Digital measured by Adobe Analytics. Both the 4.1 million and 3.84 million figures rank number one in Saturday primetime, which includes all sporting events beginning between 6:30-8:30 p.m. ET.”
