Washington will be missing at least two pieces against Eastern Michigan

Washington will be missing two key players against Eastern Michigan.

On Thursday, coach Jedd Fisch announced that the Washington Huskies will be without two members of their respective rotations when they take the field against Eastern Michigan on Saturday.

Tight end Quentin Moore, who was injured on a play where a penalty should’ve been called against Weber State in the opener, is officially out, leaving the Huskies with just two scholarship tight ends.

“I don’t expect that he’s going to be able to go this week,” Fisch said.

“There’s nothing to be done, nothing to be said. It’s unfortunate for sure,” he added about the play that the senior was injured on. “No real reaction. Disappointed that it happened, but we’ve got to move on.”

The Huskies could also find themselves relatively thin at cornerback, as redshirt freshman Leroy Bryant will miss the game while junior Darren Barkins, who is listed as a co-starter, will be a game-time decision.

“No updates on Barkins, I think he’ll be a game-time deal,” Fisch said. “I think he’s taking some reps [on Thursday], so we’ll see. Bryant is probably one week away; we should have him back on Sunday for our first practice of the week.”
