It’s been a difficult day for the Washington Football Team. Down 24-0 early in the third quarter, Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke had completed only five of his 18 passing attempts. None of those completions were to star wide receiver Terry McLaurin.
However, early in the third quarter, McLaurin had Dallas cornerback Trevon Diggs beaten down the right sideline. Unfortunately, the ball was underthrown.
Shortly thereafter, McLaurin was streaking open in the middle of the field and called for the football. Heinicke hesitated, rolled to his right and launched a deep ball to Heinicke. By this time, two Dallas defenders converged and McLaurin went up for the football, had it, but fell to the ground and the ball popped loose.
It was a tremendous effort, but McLaurin lost it when he hit the ground, landing awkwardly.
He was down on the field for a brief period.
The team quickly said McLaurin was being evaluated for a concussion.
