Washington Huskies fans can start making their travel plans for the 2025 Apple Cup.
The university released a joint statement with Washington State on Monday revealing that the No. 117 edition of the rivalry will take place on September 20, 2025, as per an agreement between both athletic departments.
Next year’s version of the game will return to Pullman after the 2024 game was played at Lumen Field in Seattle. Martin Stadium will also host the 2027 edition, while the game will be played in Husky Stadium in 2026 and 2028.
Washington and Washington State signed a five-year agreement to continue the rivalry after the Huskies left for the Big Ten, erasing conference ties between the two schools and thus making the rivalry logistically more difficult to schedule.
Historically the weekend after Thanksgiving, the Apple Cup moved to September 14 this season and seems like it will stay in September for the duration of the current agreement. After 2028, the two schools will need to return to the negotiating table to continue the yearly installment of the game.
Washington will open the 2025 season with Colorado State on August 30, followed by UC Davis on September 6, both at Husky Stadium. It remains to be seen whether the following weekend of September 13 will be a bye week or a Big Ten conference game before the Huskies travel to Pullman for the Apple Cup.
Dates for the 2026, 2027, and 2028 editions of the rivalry will be announced at a later time, both schools announced Monday.
