According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Washington is planning to move away from the Native American mascot that has been used with their current name for decades now.
If, and more likely when, the team chooses a new name in the near future, it will come with a new mascot, though ESPN’s John Keim reports that the Burgundy & Gold color scheme is unlikely to change.
One other thing I was told: The plan, as of now, is that the colors will remain burgundy and gold. https://t.co/hZUGw8RtVw

Whether or not this narrows down the choices of names yet is unclear, but it still seems like Warriors, Redtails, And Redwolves are the leading candidates.
