Washington to host “Luau At The Lake” recruiting event before fall camp

The Washington Huskies have big plans for one more recruiting event before the start of fall camp.

Every year, around the end of July, the Michigan Wolverines host their annual “BBQ At The Big House,” an unofficial recruiting weekend that is usually littered with top prospects from all over the country. Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies have taken note of the annual tradition and are set to host the inaugural edition of their own version.

According to Dawgman.com’s Scott Eklund, the event will be called the “Luau At The Lake,” and is set to begin on Friday, July 26. With 23 commits in the 2025 class, the Huskies could see some of their top pledges on campus, including four-star linebackers Zaydrius Rainey-Sale and Jonathan Epperson, the top two prospects in the state of Washington.

The only prospect who has publicly confirmed that he will be in attendance so far is four-star edge rusher Anthony Jones, a 2026 four-star prospect from Crean Lutheran High School in Southern California, but rumors are swirling that Montlake will have a high-profile guest list over the weekend.

Among the 2025 names to look out for that could possibly be in attendance are the top uncommitted prospects on Washington’s board, including five-star wide receiver Jerome Myles, four-star receiver Andrew Marsh, and four-star safety Ladarian Clardy. Three-star safety Rylon Dillard-Allen would also be a name to watch, but his commitment date is set for July 26.

Fisch’s coaching staff has done an impressive job so far during its first recruiting cycle and if it can continue to build strong relationships for the 2025 class and beyond, when combined with its prowess as developers, could be building some impressive roots on Montlake.
