Washington survives Texas’ last-gasp drive to gain CFP Championship Game

Washington survived a last-gasp drive by Texas to gain a spot in the CFP National Championship

Washington hung on to defeat Texas in the Sugar Bowl on Monday, 37-31.

And hanging on is exactly what the Huskies did in winning their 10th straight game by 10 points or less.

Washington will play Michigan in a battle of undefeated teams on Jan. 8 for the CFP National Championship.

Texas kicked a field goal with 1:09 left to close within six points.

Washington drove and was looking to run out the clock.

However, an injury to a Huskie player stopped the clock and set up Texas for a last-ditch drive.

The march eventually left the Longhorns at the Washington 13 but they were unable to complete the comeback.
