After three years with the Idaho Vandals, Jordan Dwyer has become one of the hottest names in the transfer portal, and the 6-foot, 195-pound wide receiver is interested in a homecoming.
A native of Puyallup, Washington, Dwyer is expected to begin an official visit with the Washington Huskies on Thursday, as Jedd Fisch’s coaching staff looks at adding at least one experienced wide receiver to its roster.
Dwyer was named to the All-Big Sky Second Team in 2024 after posting 78 catches for 1,1152 yards and 12 touchdowns before entering the portal following Jason Eck’s decision to take the head coaching job at New Mexico. Since his announcement, Dwyer has garnered plenty of interest from Big Ten and SEC programs thanks to his ability to stretch the field, with an average depth of target of 17.1 yards last season.
247Sports has Dwyer ranked as the No. 8 wide receiver and No. 18 overall player in the portal. His visit to Washington comes fresh off a trip to Los Angeles to check out coach Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans, but the transfer seems to have significant interest in playing for his hometown team.
With two years of eligiblity remaining, Dwyer could form an exciting tandem of Puyallup natives with fellow pass catcher Denzel Boston for quarterback Demond Williams Jr. as Fisch continues to look for reinforcements for the promising signal caller.
After Jeremiah Hunter and Giles Jackson both used up their final seasons of eligibility in 2024, adding some experience at wide receiver is critical for Williams. Behind Boston, the Huskies will have sophomores Rashid Williams, Audric Harris, and Keith Reynolds, redshirt freshmen Jason Robinson Jr. and Justice Williams, and five true freshmen from the 2025 class. Combined, that group has 18 catches for 185 yards and a touchdown.
