Washington sends WR Steven Sims to Injured Reserve with toe injury

Steven Sims is being placed on the IR with a toe injury, which will allow him to come back after Washington’s bye week if healthy.

Second-year wide receiver Steven Sims Jr. has been placed on the injured reserve in Washington after failing to come back from a toe injury that he suffered earlier in the season.

Because of the new IR rules that were put in place due to COVID-19, Sims will be able to return to the team in three weeks, which makes him next available after Washington’s bye week.

With Sims out of the lineup, the already thin receiver spot takes yet another hit, and they will have to rely severely on rookies Isaiah Wright and Antonio Gandy-Golden moving forward. Dontrelle Inman will also figure to be a big piece of this new, Kyle Allen-led offense.
