It didn’t take the Washington Football Team long to strike on a priority undrafted free agent.
According to multiple reports, including from Matt Zenitz of AL.com, the Football Team signed Buffalo running back Jaret Patterson.
The 21-year-old Patterson rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his three seasons with Buffalo. He was also a scoring machine, totaling 53 touchdowns in three seasons.
In 2020, Patterson rushed for 1,072 yards and 19 touchdowns in just six games during his final collegiate season.
Listed at 5-foot-9, 195 pounds on Buffalo’s official website, Patterson is a powerfully built runner who runs through arm tackles. His feet never stop moving, and he is not afraid to mix it up in pass protection.
Patterson is another high-character player with a strong work ethic, making him an ideal fit in Washington.
While Antonio Gibson is set as Washington’s running back, and J.D. McKissic is the third-down back, there is an opportunity for Patterson on this roster. It will be interesting to follow his development through the offseason and training camp.
Patterson is best known for rushing for over 400 yards and scoring eight touchdowns in a game against Kent State. The eight touchdowns tied an FBS record.
