Washington releases former LSU TE Thaddeus Moss

Washington waived former LSU pass-catcher Thaddeus Moss this week.

The Washington Football Team released former LSU tight end Thaddeus Moss on Friday, as NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.

Moss, the son of former NFL great Randy Moss, recorded a respectable college career in Baton Rouge with the national championship-winning Tigers, signed by Washington shortly after the 2020 NFL Draft.

The move is procedural, and Moss will be placed on injured reserve if he clears waivers.

The 6-foot-2, 250-pounder finished out a historical 2019 season with 47 catches for 570 yards and four touchdowns. He also accounted for two touchdowns in the College Football Playoff National Championship against Clemson.

During the NFL Combine, doctors discovered a fracture in his right foot, and he wasn’t allowed to participate in drills. Moss has surgery at a later date,

Moss played football at North Carolina State in his freshman season, recoridng six catches for 49 yards and one touchdown. He didn;t see action in his sophomore season due to NCAA transfer rules.

Moss redshirted in 2018, hindered by a left foot injury.

It will be interesting to see if the pass-catcher lands somewhere that’s not Washington moving forward.
