Washington receives highest grade in Big Ten for spring transfer acquisitions

The Washington Huskies made a lot of exciting additions to their roster during the 2024 spring transfer window.

When Jedd Fisch took the head coaching job with the Washington Huskies, he understood the task ahead of him, as the roster needed significant additions following the departure of 20 starters for either the NFL draft or transfer portal.

So Fisch did the only thing he could and took to the portal himself, adding 14 scholarship players during the spring window with a healthy mix of promising youngsters and experienced veterans. Rivals writer Jacey Zembal took notice, giving the Huskies a B+ for their portal acquisitions, the highest grade in the Big Ten.

“Washington made sure to fortify its lines in the trenches, with offensive linemen Enokk Vimahi and D’Angalo Titialii,” Zembal said. “Plus promising freshman defensive end Jayden Wayne, who is coming back home. Wide receiver Kevin Green Jr. and running back Jordan Washington followed the Arizona coaches to Washington, and they have time on their side.”

When also factoring in tight end Keleki Latu, offensive tackle Maximus McCree, and defensive backs Justin Harrington and Cameron Broussard among the 14 additions, Fisch’s coaching staff found a lot of players who should be able to make an impact right away at positions that needed experienced depth.
