If Action Network’s Brett McMurphy’s preseason bowl predictions come through, the Washington Huskies will see a familiar face in the DirecTV Holiday Bowl in San Diego, where they’re projected to face off with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Jedd Fisch’s team would go toe-to-toe with Marcus Freeman’s squad, which is ranked No. 7 in the inaugural AP Poll but has a tough schedule in front of it, including three ranked teams. It’s also led by a familiar face to Husky fans who follow the recruiting trail, cornerback Ben Morrison.
Morrison was considered to be a Washington-lean for a long time during the 2022 recruiting cycle and even called the program his dream school at various points during the process, but former head coach Jimmy Lake wasn’t able to earn his commitment.
If this prediction were to come true, an opportunity to compete against the Fighting Irish feels like it would be a big accomplishment in Fisch’s first season, considering all the turnover he’s had to deal with during the offseason.
