Washington signs WR Cam Sims to the active roster and places G Brandon Scherff (MCL sprain) on the IR, the team announces.
Scherff will miss at least three weeks. This move makes sense bc Sims could no longer be promoted from PS to active roster without penalty.

Washington will be placing right guard Brandon Scherff on the injured reserve following the diagnosis of an MCL sprain on his right knee. Unlike in years past, though, Scherff will only be unavailable for three weeks, at which point he will be eligible to return tot he active roster.
In his place, Washington has decided to bring up WR Cam Sims, who was placed on the practice squad ahead of the season, but has been brought up for each of the two games so far this season. Sims has been a solid player on special teams, and even got a few snaps on offense this past week against the Arizona Cardinals.
