Washington offers three-star defender from Texas with promising frame

The Washington Huskies offered another versatile defender from Texas who could have a future at multiple positions.

Washington Huskies cornerbacks coach John Richardson has an impressive eye for talent. During his time at Arizona, he helped develop Tacario Davis and Ephesians Prysock into All-Pac-12 players and is looking to do the same in Seattle.

On Friday, he extended an offer to Coleman Patmon, a three-star prospect from Del Valle High School in Texas. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, 247Sports has him listed as a linebacker and ranked as the No. 66 safety, yet Richardson and the majority of his 15 other offers appear to view him as a cornerback.

He has already taken official visits to Northwestern and Oklahoma State and appears to be in the process of setting an official visit with Arkansas as well.

A long, physical cornerback who loves to play press coverage, Patmon is a perfect fit for Richardson’s system and is a name to keep an eye on if some of his top targets decide to commit elsewhere.

The Huskies hosted two of the nation’s top cornerbacks for official visits on May 31 and are set to host three-star prospects D’Arhyian Clemons and Larue Zamorano on June 21. Depending on how many scholarships are available in the secondary, the coaching staff could try to set up a visit with Patmon in the coming weeks.
