Coach Jedd Fisch, offensive coordinator Brennan Carroll, and the Washington Huskies are still in search of help for their 2025 offensive line class. Although the class has four commits, headlined by four-star prospect Champ Taulealea, that didn’t stop the coaching staff from extending an offer to a recent Nebraska pledge.
On Thursday, Carroll offered three-star prospect Brian Tapu of West High School in Utah a scholarship, who announced his commitment to Matt Rhule and the Huskers on June 27.
The nation’s No. 72 offensive tackle and No. 10 player in Utah according to 247Sports had previously committed to Oregon State on June 23, but decommitted three days later before choosing Washington’s new Big Ten foe. He holds 13 other offers including Stanford, Texas A&M, and Utah.
Washington has put together an exciting recruiting class that currently sits at No. 17 in 247Sports’ rankings but still has room to add along the offensive line. Carroll appears to be looking to take at least one more trench player for his room and could push hard to flip the 6-foot-7, 295-pound Tapu in the coming months.
The Huskies have been dominant all over the West Coast in the 2025 class, but haven’t secured a prospect from Utah yet. The staff hosted offensive lineman Darius Afalava and linebacker Cyrus Polu on official visits, although they chose to commit to Oklahoma and Utah respectively.
However, the Huskies are pushing for Corner Canyon five-star receiver Jerome Myles and appear to be among the top suitors for his commitment.
