The Washington Huskies’ nationwide search on the recruiting trail continues to lead them to Florida.
After offering 2026 four-star offensive tackle Johnnie Jones in August, the Huskies made the top 8 for 2026 three-star athlete Zion Legree and offered 2025 three-star athlete O’Lontae Dean in early October. All three hail from the Sunshine State.
Jedd Fisch continued this push into Florida on Thursday, extending an offer to four-star wide receiver Naeshaun Montgomery. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound Montgomery transferred to Miami Central High School for his senior season after playing two varsity seasons at Cardinal Newman in West Palm Beach.
Montgomery is currently committed to Florida, a pledge he made in August after taking official visits to LSU, Penn State, and Florida. With the Gators struggling to start the season, however, there could be some room to sway the No. 20 wide receiver in the 247Sports composite rankings to leave home. Florida has already seen two 2025 recruits – safety Demetres Samuel Jr. and wide receiver Joshua Moore – decommit during the season.
Washington currently has commitments from four wide receivers in the 2025 class: four-star Chris Lawson and three-stars Raiden Vines-Bright, Deji Ajose, and Dezmen Roebuck. The Huskies also have three true freshmen and two redshirt freshmen on scholarship at wide receiver as position coach Kevin Cummings continues to build depth at the position.
Montgomery would be the No. 4 highest-ranked recruit in Washington’s 2025 class if he flips to the Huskies, slotting in between athlete Dylan Robinson and Lawson. His commitment would give Washington four top-200 players in the class.
