You want to believe that Washington is all in on Terry McLaurin and his position of captain of the team? Look no further than the fact that they have now nominated the second-year wide receiver to be the team’s nominee for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award in 2020.
The award was created in 2014 in order to honor an NFL player “who best demonstrates the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and integrity in competition,” according to NFL.com.
All 32 teams in the NFL nominated one player, and a total of eight finalists will be selected, and a winner will be chosen.
In 2019, Washington’s Adrian Peterson won the award and was given $25,000 from the NFL Foundation to give to a charity of his choice. This year around, McLaurin could be in the running to win the award as well, and he will likely be in a similar position for many years to come.
