Washington loses quality offensive lineman in the portal; Michael Penix loses a trusted protector

It will be fascinating to see how much the loss of OL Victor Curne affects Michael Penix and the Washington passing game in 2023.

Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin have landed 6-foot-4, 320-pound offensive lineman Victor Curne. The standout performer is a two-time All-Pac-12 honorable mention who played primarily as a right tackle for the Washington Huskies.

Curne finished his Washington career having played 1,090 offensive snaps with a well above average 72.0 Pro Football Focus grade.

Curne was ranked by 247Sport as the No. 27 offensive guard prospect in the nation out of Second Baptist in Houston.

Ole Miss returns four starters on its offensive line, including center Caleb Warren and guard Jeremy James, who has also played right tackle and left tackle during his Ole Miss career.

Curne is currently ranked as the No. 26 interior offensive lineman prospect in the 2023 On3 Transfer Portal Rankings.
