Washington leapfrogs Florida State in latest CFP rankings reveal

Washington is now in the top four.

As Rivalry Week awaits the college football world on Thursday through Saturday, the College Football Playoff committee released its latest edition of the rankings.

The big question of the night was what would the committee do with the Florida State Seminoles after they lost starting quarterback Jordan Travis to a horrific injury against North Alabama. The Washington Huskies jumped the Noles for that No. 4 spot after they knocked off then-ranked No. 11 Oregon State, who checked in at No. 16 this week.

The top 10 teams remained in place for the most part with the flipped rankings of Washington and Florida State. There were three new additions this week with the North Carolina State Wolfpack, Clemson Tigers, and Liberty Flame.

After Week 12’s action, the North Carolina Tar Heels, Utah Utes, and Kansas Jayhawks all fell out of the top 25. Here is the full list as released on Tuesday night.
