Washington Huskies offensive lineman enters the transfer portal

A lot of West Coast football watchers will closely follow this portal drama.

The USC Trojans need more high-end offensive linemen. The fact that coaching changes have occurred at Washington, Arizona, and Alabama in recent weeks means that special transfer portal windows exist for players at those schools. USC needs to monitor the situations at those programs so that the Trojans can jump into the fray and potentially pick off a prime prospect.

Here’s someone USC might try to snag.

From our new partners at UW Huskies Wire, Washington offensive lineman Jalen Klemm has entered the transfer portal:

“The 6-foot-5, 281-pound Klemm played in seven games during Washington’s run to the national championship and if he chooses to withdraw from the portal, could be a big part of offensive coordinator Brennan Carroll’s plans up front in 2024.

“Klemm transferred to Washington after spending the 2022 season at Kansas State and the former four-star recruit and Army All-American looks like he has a future at either guard or tackle. His father, New England Patriots offensive line coach Adrian Klemm, was a second round pick by the Patriots in 2000, where he won three Super Bowls.”

Adrian Klemm has previously coached at Oregon and UCLA, so while USC doesn’t seem to have any inside track in this portal chase, Jalen Klemm is obviously a known name in West Coast football circles. Where he lands will be a point of great interest to many in the Western United States.
