Defensive tackle Tuli Letuligasenoa, one of the anchors of the Washington Huskies’ defensive line, has signed as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Rams to play for head coach Sean McVay. Knowing the relationship between McVay and head coach Jedd Fisch, who worked with the Rams for two seasons, he undoubtedly came with a glowing recommendation.
The sixth-year defensive tackle was part of one of coach Chris Petersen’s strongest recruiting classes in 2018, which produced multiple NFL draftees in cornerback Kyler Gordon, safety Dominque Hampton, and tight end Devin Culp.
The 6-foot-1, 292-pound Letuligasenoa departs Washington with 113 career tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, and 9 passes defensed.
He battled through a leg injury in 2023 that he suffered in Washington’s win over Fisch and Arizona, which caused him to miss the late October matchups against Arizona State and Stanford, before returning against USC.
In his return he did an excellent job pressuring quarterback Caleb Williams, the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL draft and recorded a safety the following week against Utah.
Letuligasenoa will be a much-needed depth piece for Los Angeles who will be vital to helping shut down opposing run games for newly hired defensive coordinator Chris Shula, who is the grandson of Hall of Fame coach Don Shula and son of former coach David Shula.
Hey @RamsNFL fans…when Tuli Letuligasenoa was in the game for @UW_Football last season, the Husky defense allowed nearly one less yard per carry vs. when he wasn't in the game… he'll be a heck of a presence in the middle of your defense… pic.twitter.com/eMqIXhHbkV
