One of Washington’s biggest off-field acquisitions in recent years has been senior director of creative services Kasey Byers.
Byers and his team have reinvented the Huskies’ social media campaigns over the last few years, including a partnership with Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture during signing day in December. Still, the team’s biggest accomplishment has been its cinematic recap of Washington’s 36-33 victory over the Oregon Ducks in October.
Entitled “Made for These Moments,” Byers was awarded a Pacific Northwest Regional Emmy Award on Saturday night for the video.
It detailed Washington’s memorable victory over their fiercest rival, capturing every moment from College GameDay, to Michael Penix Jr.’s game-winning touchdown pass to Rome Odunze, and Camden Lewis’ missed field goal in the waning seconds to secure the win.
Tonight I was awarded a Emmy for our montage of beating the Ducks last year.
I wasn’t there because I was doing what I love, creating content during a major weekend on Montlake. I was side by side with my team and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

As Washington moves into the Big Ten, staying on the forefront of social media marketing is an underrated aspect of the modern age of college football and Byers’ team has done a great job making sure the Huskies are at the forefront of the conference in that regard.
