Washington could be in play for five-star WR Jerome Myles

The Washington Huskies appear to have a shot with five-star WR Jerome Myles.

After five-star wide receiver Jerome Myles decommitted from coach Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels, wide receivers coaches from every corner of the country began chomping at the bit to try and get him on campus, including Washington’s Kevin Cummings.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound prospect from Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah, who is ranked as the nation’s No. 31 overall prospect and No. 5 receiver by 247Sports took to social media shortly after his decommitment and named what appears to be an unofficial top seven list of schools he’s considering of the 23 offers he holds.

Myles included Michigan, Nebraska, Penn State, Texas A&M, USC, Utah, and Washington in his post.

He has taken official visits to check out both the Aggies and Utes in June and is set to travel to Ann Arbor at the end of July to take in what coach Sherrone Moore and the Wolverines have to offer. Depending on how when he wants to commit, Myles could set up visits with some of the other schools during the season.

Even though Washington has four receivers pledged in the 2025 class following Chris Lawson’s commitment on Sunday, that hasn’t stopped Cummings from continuing to push to stack talent however he can.

If he can pull off a stunner to secure Myles’ commitment, as he currently has a crystal ball projection to pick Utah, he would be adding a top-notch player who has drawn comparisons to a Washington legend.

“He has a rare combination of size, speed and body control and reminds us a bit of former Washington All-American wide out and recent No. 9 pick of the Chicago Bears, Rome Odunze. He has an athletic 6-2, 210 pound frame and is a true deep threat who can get behind any defense,” 247Sports’ Greg Biggins said in his evaluation of Myles. “He’s not just track fast, his speed carries over to the football field and he can routinely blow past opposing corners who are giving him huge cushions.”

“He adjusts well to the football over either shoulder, shows the ability to change gears and knows how to set up an opposing corner. He has a large catch radius and shows the ability to make contested catches over a corner or catch a ball down by his ankles. He has strong hands, isn’t afraid to go over the middle and catches the ball well through contact.”
