It has been a struggle for most teams to find top-tier talent at defensive tackle on the West Coast in the 2025 recruiting class. The Washington Huskies have prioritized one-time UW commit Josiah Sharma and three-star Chace Sims at the position and have been searching for underrecruited players in the region and appear to have found one in Dominic Macon.
A three-star prospect from Adrienne C. Wilson High School in Happy Valley, Oregon, the 6-foot-3, 305-pounder attended the coaching staff’s Top Dawg camp on Friday and went home with a scholarship offer from defensive line coach Jason Kaufusi.
Macon holds 8 offers, including Boise State, Oregon State, and Washington State, and could become one of the coaching staff’s big targets at the position if Sims and Sharma choose to commit elsewhere. A talented two-sport athlete, he also won Oregon’s 6A state wrestling championship in 2024 after a 33-0 season.
On film, Macon is an intriguing prospect who plays with good leverage and possesses a quick first step. If he can continue to add power to his frame, he could end up being a solid contributor at the college level.
