Washington CB Elijah Jackson transfers to TCU

Washington CB Elijah Jackson will spend his final season at TCU.

Elijah Jackson will always have a special place in the hearts of Washington fans thanks to his pass breakup at the end of the Sugar Bowl, which beat the Texas Longhorns and sent the Huskies to the national championship. However, despite his permanent place in school history, he’ll spend his final college football season with the TCU Horned Frogs.

On Saturday evening, 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz reported that Jackson had signed with coach Sonny Dykes’ team after five seasons with the Huskies.

Jackson was part of the 2020 class that saw four head coaches during its time at Washington. He initially committed to coach Chris Petersen before he stepped down and Jimmy Lake took over. After Lake was fired, Jackson didn’t mull the transfer portal when Kalen DeBoer came and went, playing out Jedd Fisch’s first season before looking for a new home.

He finished his career on Montlake without an interception but was able to notch 89 tackles, 2 for loss, 8 pass breakups, and 3 forced fumbles.

With his commitment, he becomes the third member of Washington’s secondary to find a new home, joining cornerback Curley Reed, who is returning home to Louisiana Tech, and safety Tristan Dunn, who transferred to California.
