Warriors to assign rookie Jordan Poole to Santa Cruz in the G League

Poole is averaging two points in nine games during the month of December, shooting just 11% from the field.

After struggling to find his shot recently, the Golden State Warriors are reportedly set to send rookie Jordan Poole to the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G League, according to Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Poole had a decent showing for the Warriors during the month of November. In 16 games, Poole averaged 9.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists while he shot 29.4% from the field and 25.6% from 3-point range.

In December, those numbers dropped even further.

The first-round pick averaged just two points in nine games after converting just 11% (4-of-38) from the field and 13% (3-of-24) from 3-point range. During one stretch, Poole went 0-of-19 over a four-game span.

With Santa Cruz playing two games this weekend, the Warriors are hopeful that playing in the G League can help Poole find his shot once again and re-gain some confidence.

Poole has shown signs this season that he can contribute in the NBA but is certainly struggling to find his shot at the moment. The G League has proven to be a good option for players to get back on track and the Warriors certainly hope that will be the case.
