With the regular season around the corner, the Golden State Warriors are still busy making changes to the backend of the roster. After waiving veteran guard Langston Galloway on Saturday, the Warriors added a former member of the San Antonio Spurs.
On Monday, the Warriors signed free agent guard Quinndary Weatherspoon. The 25-year-old guard has spent the past two seasons with the Spurs, playing in 31 games. Weatherspoon was drafted by the Spurs in the second-round of the 2019 NBA draft out of Mississippi State.
In two seasons with San Antonio, Weatherspoon averaged 1.9 points on 40.4% shooting from the floor with 0.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 6.4 minutes per contest.

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the addition of Weatherspoon will be a sign-and-waive Exhibit 10 move. Weatherspoon will have a path to join Golden State’s G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors.

With Weatherspoon headed to Santa Cruz, the Warriors still have an opening for their final roster spot. With two preseason games left before the start of the regular season, Avery Bradley, Mychal Mulder, Gary Payton II and Jordan Bell are currently in competition for Golden State’s 15th roster spot.
