Down a starter due to the league’s health and safety protocol, the Golden State Warriors will turn to a rookie in the starting lineup on Friday against the Boston Celtics.
Prior to Friday night’s contest, Jordan Poole became one of many across the league to join the NBA’s health and safety protocol. With Poole out, the Warriors are going to give 2021 No. 14 overall pick Moses Moody the chance to start alongside Steph Curry on Friday night.

Moses Moody will start in Jordan Poole’s place at the shooting guard tonight for the Warriors. Steve Kerr said he likes Moody’s shooting and defensive size vs Celtics.

Moody will have big shoes to fill in place of Poole. The third-year guard has continued his rise, averaging 17.9 points on 44.2% shooting from the field with 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists.
The Arkansas Razorback product has played a limited role with the Warriors to start his rookie campaign, averaging just 1.4 points on 37.9% shooting from the field in 5.3 minutes per game.
However, when on assignment with Golden State’s G League affiliate in Santa Cruz, Moody has impressed. In five games with Santa Cruz, the 19-year-old wing is averaging 24 points on 43.5% shooting from the floor.
While Moody will get the chance to play with the starters, Damion Lee, Gary Payton II and Chris Chiozza could see increased minutes in the backcourt with Curry on Friday.
The Warriors are slated to meet the Celtics at 4:30 p.m. PT on Friday.
