After sliding to a season-high five-game losing streak, reinforcements seem to be on the way for the Golden State Warriors. One day after Draymond Green announced his target date for his return to the court, the Warriors provided a positive update regarding James Wiseman.
On Tuesday, Wiseman was cleared to join the Santa Cruz Warriors for two games in the G League. The former No. 2 overall pick from the 2020 NBA draft will join the Sea Dubs on Thursday for a contest against the Stockton Kings and Sunday for a tilt against the G League Ignite at Chase Center.

Thursday’s contest in the G League will be the first time Wiseman steps on the court for a game since suffering a meniscus injury in April 2021. The 20-year-old center’s rookie season was limited to only 39 games before suffering his injury.
During his rookie campaign, Wiseman averaged 11.5 points on 51.9% shooting from the field with 5.8 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 21.4 minutes per game.
Wiseman’s sophomore year in the NBA has been put on hold as he’s been rehabbing his knee injury throughout the season. Wiseman has recently been traveling with the Warriors and participating in scrimmages at practice. Wiseman also recently joined the Santa Cruz Warriors for practice.
The Santa Cruz Warriors will meet the Stockton Kings on Thursday at 7 p.m. PT.
