Coming off a Most Valuable Player campaign in 2020-21, Steph Curry is eligible for a contract extension with the Golden State Warriors.
After signing a $201 million, five-year contract in 2017, Curry is eligible to sign another massive contract extension during the offseason. The two-time Most Valuable Player is slated to become a free agent following the 2021-22 season.
Heading into a crucial offseason, Bob Myers is confident the Warriors will re-sign the seven-time All-Star guard. During an end-of-season press conference on Monday, Myers said he doesn’t see any reason not to be optimistic about Curry’s contract.
I don’t see any reason not to be optimistic, he seems like he’s motivated, we’re motivated. I would say pretty confident we’ll get something done.

At age 33-years-old, Curry became the oldest player to win the scoring title since Michael Jordan in the 1997-98 season at 35. The Davidson product averaged 32 points on 48.2% shooting from the field and 42.1% shooting from long distance.
In April, Curry passed Wilt Chamberlain to become the Golden State Warriors’ franchise leader in scoring. In March, the point guard also became the franchise leader in assists.
Along with the healthy returns of Klay Thompson and James Wiseman, getting Curry’s deal done should be near the top of Golden State’s offseason plans.
