Warriors fall to No. 7 in Rookie Wire’s latest set of NBA power rankings

The Warriors have fallen from the top spot in @RookieWire’s latest NBA power rankings.

The Golden State Warriors’ title defense has opened with a surprising start. After starting the 2022-23 season with a pair of wins in their first three games, the Warriors have struggled, especially away from San Francisco’s Chase Center.

Following a win over the Miami Heat last Thursday, the Warriors ventured out on their first five-game road swing of the 2022-23 campaign. Through their first two games on the trip, the Warriors are still looking for their first win.

Over the weekend, the Warriors have dropped back-to-back upset losses to the Charlotte Hornets and Detriot Pistons. After three games on the road, the Warriors are still winless outside of the Bay Area.

Following Golden State’s recent misstep, the Warriors have fallen in Rookie Wire’s latest set of NBA Power Rankings. After holding the No. 1 spot to start the season, the Warriors have dropped to No. 7 in Cody Taylor’s latest list.

The Warriors have dropped their first two games of their five-game road trip to fall under .500. They lost to the Hornets and Pistons and still have the Heat, Magic and Pelicans left before returning home. It is far too early to be concerned about the defending champs, but things aren’t exactly going great, either.

The Portland Trail Blazers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, Memphis Grizzlies, Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks ranked in front of the Warriors in Rookie Wire’s new power rankings.

The Warriors still have a chance to salvage their road trip with three games left before returning home to the Bay Area. The Warriors will travel to South Beach for a rematch against the Miami Heat on Tuesday evening.
