Warriors’ Draymond Green believes James Wiseman has All-Star potential

Green praised Wiseman and his potential and even thinks Wiseman can grow into a special player in the NBA.

Golden State Warriors rookie James Wiseman has shown immense potential over his first five games in the NBA and one teammate even believes he can potentially blossom into an All-Star during his career.

Wiseman endured a rocky start to the season after missing the start of training camp due to the coronavirus but has shown flashes of greatness at times on the court. He is averaging 11.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks to this point while he is shooting 50% (5-of-10) from 3-point range.

On Saturday, Draymond Green praised Wiseman and his potential as a player. Green said that he thinks Wiseman can grow into a premier player in the NBA given his skillset on the court.

“I think he has the chance to be an All-Star, a premier player in this league,” Green said. “He has a lot of room for growth, which is exciting. … To do the things he is able to do out there on the floor without kinda having an understanding of anything other than what he is personally capable of doing, it’s pretty special. I think he is going to be a really special player in this league and definitely for this organization.”

Wiseman hasn’t been with the Warriors very long but has left quite an impression on his teammates and coaching staff. He has handled a tough transition beautifully, as head coach Steve Kerr said, and has stayed upbeat during the entire process.

Certainly, the organization has high hopes for Wiseman this season and his growth and development throughout the year will be worth monitoring as a result.
