Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins to start in return from injury vs. Magic on Saturday

The Warriors All-Star forward will make his return to the starting lineup on Saturday against the Magic after missing 15 games.

Andre Iguodala won’t be the only member of the Golden State Warriors set to make a highly-anticipated return to the court on Saturday night against the Orlando Magic.

After missing 15 games with an adductor strain that was followed by an illness, Andrew Wiggins will make his return to the floor on Saturday against the Magic at San Francisco’s Chase Center. In his first game action since Dec. 3, 2022, Wiggins will re-enter the starting lineup for the Warriors.

Wiggins will likely step in alongside Jordan Poole, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Kevon Looney. After starting nine consecutive games, Donte DiVincenzo will slide back bench.

Prior to missing time with an adductor strain, Wiggins led the Warriors on the way to a new season-high in scoring with 36 points against the Houston Rockets. Wiggins matched a career-high from beyond the arc with eight made triples in his 36-point performance against the Rockets.

During the 2022-23 season, Wiggins is averaging 19.1 points on 51.1% shooting from the field with 5.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 32.8 minutes per game.

The Warriors are set to host the Magic on Saturday night at 5:30 p.m. PT in San Francisco.
