In the latest edition of Warriors Wire‘s “three goals” series, we will be taking a look at Jonathan Kuminga. The 6’8” forward will be entering his third year in the NBA and needs a breakout season after some false starts over his first two years with the franchise. Kuminga has recently spoken about the pressure of expectations on his shoulders.
However, the third-year forward has all the physical tools and basketball skills to succeed at the NBA level. The Warriors will lay out a defined role for Kuminga, at which point, it’s on him to execute within that role and help his team contend for a championship.
Given Golden State’s lack of youth, Kuminga could find himself playing a vital role off the bench, where his scoring ability, defensive upside, and athleticism provide his team with a sparkplug within the second unit.
