I’m not going to fully say that the 2022 NBA All-Star Game jerseys “leaked” on Twitter last night. Because whatever we saw posted looked way more like a laundry bag than a uniform.
Of course, that doesn’t mean the person who originally posted it is lying! I do believe that Lakers Nation editor Matthew Moreno was, as he tweeted, at a “local store” and saw these bad boys hanging on the racks. Moreno posted the images online, which is exactly what I would do if I thought that I saw something NBA-related before anyone else ever did.
But I’m really having trouble wrapping my head around the possibility that this could be what the best basketball players in the world are wearing on one of the biggest stages.
These generic uniforms feel like gym class lacrosse pinnies:
All-Star jersey leak? 🤔

The NBA has made a ginormous push to embrace the 75th anniversary of the league. If I had to guess, they would try to embrace that nostalgia and try to do something that aesthetically marries the old and the new. But instead, this looks like something borrowed from a Bed, Bath & Beyond.
As co-host of the Spinsters podcast Hayley O’Shaughnessy tweeted, these jerseys look more like a Swiffer pad to clean your floors with than something that LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo should wear.
The Raptors Show host Alex Wong suggested that if these are actually the uniforms the NBA is making players wear when they take the floor for the game in Cleveland on Feb. 20, the players should just agree to wear their own uniforms, as the league did between 1997 and 2003.
I think we ought to take it one step further. If this is what the league is asking the players to wear, they should be allowed to wear whatever they want. That includes non-basketball apparel. If they allowed that, I’d start hammering the vote for Kyle Kuzma so that we can see a giant pink sweater in the All-Star Game.
