The Atlanta Falcons have some talented weapons on offense, but there are question marks beyond the big three of Bijan Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts. The team signed former Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney in free agency and he’s likely to serve as the No. 2 WR behind London this season.
However, a big-name wide receiver may soon become available on the NFL trade market. San Francisco 49ers wideout Brandon Aiyuk has requested a trade, according to ESPN. Aiyuk is set to make $14.1 million in 2024, the final year of his contract. The 26-year-old was hoping to sign an extension but reportedly got frustrated waiting around.
The fact that the 49ers drafted wide receiver Ricky Pearsall in the first round probably didn’t help matters. Over his first four NFL seasons, Aiyuk has recorded 269 catches for 3,931 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns. In 2024, he posted a career-high 1,342 receiving yards to lead the 49ers.
Even though it wouldn’t be cheap, should the Falcons consider trading for the disgruntled wideout? Vote in our latest fan poll below (results will appear once poll closes).
