Von Miller: Justin Fields ‘has all the tools to be one of the best QBs ever in NFL history’

Bills EDGE Von Miller had high praise for Bears QB Justin Fields.

Bears quarterback Justin Fields has blossomed into a star in his second season, where he’s impressed and made NFL history despite not having a strong supporting cast around him.

And people around the league are taking notice, including one of the NFL’s best edge rushers in Buffalo’s Von Miller.

Miller, who is done for the year with a torn ACL, won’t get to face Fields on Saturday. But he had high praise for Fields in only his second season in the league. Safe to say, he thinks Fields can be a dominant force in the NFL for years to come.

“I’ve got a lot of respect for Justin Fields and the things that he’s done,” said on his podcast, The Voncast. “He’s only the third quarterback in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards. He’s reading, and if it’s not there, he’s gone. And that’s what you should do. That’s what he should do, man. He’s not going to spend a lot of time back there and just let guys tee off on him and sack him. They’re playing to his skillset, and he’s a great runner.”

But Miller saved the best for last.

“He has all the tools to be one of the best quarterbacks ever in NFL history,” Miller said.

That’s high praise from Miller, who’s faced a number of great quarterbacks over the years. And the crazy thing is, Fields is only in his second season and has started just 23 games. Not to mention, Fields has been impressing with an underwhelming supporting cast.

The best is yet to come with Fields. And Miller certainly believes it.
