The Broncos started the year strong, winning each of their first three games and allowing just 26 total points in that span. Von Miller was playing great, too, recording four sacks and six QB hits in his first three games of the year.
Then the wheels came off and they lost four straight before beating Washington on Sunday to pull even at 4-4. That’s still not close to the Rams’ near-perfect record, however, which has Miller excited about arriving in L.A.
He had the perfect quote to sum up his move from the Broncos to the Rams.
“It’s starting to feel real good. You look at all the talent that we have. I went to sleep 4-4 and woke up 7-1,” he said with a laugh Wednesday. “On the back end of things, it’s not really that bad. It’s better for me. It’s better for the organization. And you just got to let reality sink in that I get to play with Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey and Leonard Floyd and Matthew Stafford and a solid offensive line. And they got a solid team.”
Miller obviously meant no disrespect to the Broncos, who he spent 10-plus years with, but he knows the reality of how different each team’s situation is. The Rams are in win-now mode while the Broncos are clearly building for the future.
“The Denver Broncos are still building,” he said. “They’re still a family and stuff, but this team was ready to win it right now, ready to win championships right now. And I’m excited to be a part of it.”
