Tennessee will kick off its 2021 season Sept. 2 against Bowling Green at Neyland Stadium.
Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m. EDT. SEC Network will televise the matchup.
Scot Loeffler enters his third season as Bowling Green’s head coach. Loeffler discussed Falcons’ senior quarterback Matt McDonald ahead of playing at Tennessee.
“Right now, Matt is playing well when he is protected, there is no question about it,” Loeffler said. “He has really done well.”
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound quarterback transferred to Bowling Green in 2020 from Boston College. He played at Boston College during the 2017 and 2018 seasons before sitting out in 2019 due to transfer rules.
McDonald completed 54-of-123 passes, totaling 712 yards, one touchdown and six interceptions in five contests for Bowling Green last season.
