Vols to play Gators in SEC Tournament

Tennessee to play Florida in SEC quarterfinals.

Tennessee will begin its postseason Friday afternoon in the Southeastern Conference Tournament quarterfinals.

The Volunteers, the tournament’s No. 4 seed, will take on fifth-seeded Florida at 2:30 p.m. EST at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

The game will be televised on SEC Network.

The Gators (14-8) punched their ticket to Friday’s quarterfinals with a 69-63 victory over Vanderbilt Thursday afternoon.

Tre Mann scored 22 points to lead Florida past the Commodores (9-16).

Friday’s game will represent the third time that Florida and Tennessee will meet this season.

Tennessee (17-7) split its previous two games with the Gators this year.

Florida defeated the Vols, 75-49, in Gainesville on Jan. 19. Tennessee won at Thompson-Boling Arena Sunday, notching a 65-54 comeback victory on senior day.

John Fulkerson, Keon Johnson and Victor Bailey Jr. scored 14 points each in that game for the Big Orange.
